Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries are still not divorced. Why not? Although the September 3, 2012 issue of US magazine does not go into any legal details, it may be that Humphries wants an annulment. In Louisiana, a marriage procured by fraud may be annulled. An annulment means that the parties were never married at all. A divorce on the other hand is a determination that a marriage existed but is now over. For some, perhaps including Humphries, the emotional satisfaction of being able to say to the next one that they are the first is worth more than the costs of court.
